Happy Halloween!

I am in a difficult position today, like most of you. Do I get sweets in and answer the door to all the cute children dressed to impress (and scare) us tonight or do I turn all the lights out and lock the door and pretend to be out? Hmm...

I have never been one for Halloween, don't get me wrong when I was younger I loved a bit of Trick or Treating! Who didn't? Free sweets! Don't mind if I do! (answered my own question, really should get sweets in).
But I've never been one for dressing up is what I mean. It's just not my thing. Me and the Fiance had a lovely evening Saturday we went for a meal then down to our local pub (well not so local for me anymore but local pre bambino) and was shocked at how many people had done the dressing up thing!
I've taken a few photos to share with you beautiful people (but they were taken on my phone and it doesn't have a flash and is exceptional poor quality! So I apologise now)

If you are squeamish please look away now.

This photo made me chuckle! John does Avon. He says Avon does wonders to your skin?
I'll let you decide...

This photo is just to prove I didn't download these highly disturbing images from anywhere... That I actually witnessed this.

I think next year I will dress Bambino up! And carve pumpkins and maybe even throw a party? Hmm... we'll see.

Happy Halloween

Bird cages and bread sticks

I'm not a morning person. I never have been and probably never will be. In fact morning people annoy me, with their chirpiness in the morning and that look in their eyes when you finally fall out of bed like they are telling you your lazy with just there eyes.

Sleepy-eyed I stumble down the stairs at 7.30am after being woken up by my fiance telling me he has to leave for work soon. As I plonk myself up the dinner table next to the Bambino who has already been up for half an hour (it's a good job the fiance isn't a heavy sleeper like me otherwise the bambino would be awake for hours before I realised). "Morning" I say to nobody in particular, but get a huge slobbery smile from the bambino and the fiance.

"He's on his second bread stick" greeted the fiance.

Bread sticks for breakfast? Really? But he sounded so proud he had managed to get the Bambino to eat them, how could I make a remark on his breakfast choice? After all he was making him a bowl of porridge too.

An hour later and I'm still in my pajamas doing the washing up and Alfie is rooming the house in his walker.

"Bang BANG bang"

"What on earth is that?"

Pulling my hands out of the kitchen sink, I realise it was the front door (still not fully awake! I don't really become conscious until noon) then realising who on earth is coming round at 8.30?!

It turned out to be my step mum and step sister, telling me to chuck some clothes on because for one day only Matalan's boots are a fiver!
Well how could I stay at home tidying up when there are boots to be bought?
2 minutes later I lumbering myself into the car. It turns out that yes there was a great boot sale however only one pair in my size, so I bought them anyway!

When I got home I returned to the daily duties again I found that like routine I was back at the kitchen sink wondering if that was all a bizarre dream?

After noon things started to become clearer and me and the best friend spent a lovely day window shopping (well me window shopping her spending money on her store cards, tut tut!) and the bambino smiling at everyone who walked past.

And now it's currently 6.32pm I have just put the Bambino down (for his 13 hour sleep, god I love him!) I am about to do the washing up AGAIN and get on with the rest of the house work.

When did I become a housewife? Without the wedding... Hmm I shall put this to the fiance later.

P.S. If the fiance asks about the bird cage style candle holder I "window shopped" to get our stories straight... We've had it ages!

Hope you had a lovely day too .

The Gallery - Faces

Okay so I have no clue what I'm doing, but what I can sort of fathom is there is this blog called "The gallery" and every week it gives you a new topic to either take a photo of, or look through and dig out a photo you already have that will match this topic... Get where I'm going with it? Me neither. But hey whats the harm in giving it a go!

So this weeks topic is faces. Okay? Okay!

I have chosen this photo, it is of course is, MUMMY & BAMBINO! I'm not entirely sure what this photo is about if I'm entirely honest. It looks like I am happy yet slightly surprised (I don't know why the camera is usually pointed in either mine or bambino's face this shouldn't be a surprise!) and Bambino looks a bit exhausted from me taking his photos all morning and now interested in other things (The wrist band hanging off the camera by the looks of it).

So here is a photo for The Gallery, i just have to remember to keep this up. Another thing to add to the list of "Things to remember" and I think I still have baby brain.

Deep in thought

I watched a documentary not to long ago about a girl who had a heart transplant and then started having memories from the former person who had the heart. This got me thinking (I shouldn't do that because it can be lethal). What happens to our memories once we've gone... Do we simply take them with us, do they just fade away like a star along with our bodies? Who will remember the little things that may of once been big?

Somebody very close to me died when I was 14 and that person always had a camera in her hand, and I am thankful she did because now when I miss her so much it hurts I can look through her albums and remember what her hair smelt like, I can picture her perfectly painted nails and the way she applied her lipstick.

Now I own all of her memories, she took photos of everything and there are at least 10 photo albums in which she captured hundreds of moments, I now am very camera happy I take photos of everything I can in the hope that one day somebody will look back and go through my life in photos and say "She enjoyed her life, you can see".

I'm not scared of dieing, my dad once said to me it's the only sure thing in life, once your born you can't say what will happen, what you'll see or which route you decide to go down. But one thing is for sure, you will eventually die. But I am scared that my precious memories will not live on.

I think back to my childhood and although I am still young it feels like it was a fifty years ago. But when I look at a photo it takes me right back to when it was taken, sometimes even how I was feeling, I remember what was going on around me and the day I had. This is why I love photos so much, they bring the memory back.

I promoised Bambino when he was born I would never leave him, never. Now although I know this is virtually an impossible promise to keep because I will leave this planet before he will, however I will not leave while he still needs me, while he is dependant on me. But when I do eventually die, he will then have the key to my memories. All my photos, and keep sakes and I like to think he will show them off to his children and children's children, and I will be remembered, my tiny minute little stamp on the world will still be here when I'm not.

So take as many photos as you can, capture the people you hold dearest, remember the good times because one day somebody you may not even have met yet will look back on your life. and it's the only thing you may have to remember the good times you have put in a box in the deepest darkest corner of your mind.

You'll find it and smile.

Weird seeking strange...

Our local free newspaper comes round every Thursday and to be honest its usually full of rubbish, but it is free, and it does usually have good listing in it for whatever you may need. However when I get this newspaper through my door I do the same thing, every week.
I look through the dating page. Not because I'm dating, but because usually there a few really cute ones that make me smile, and silly ones. Which you can tell are dares!
Here are a few that made me smile:

"Cement to be! Builder, 49, divorced, well preserved, seeks female 30-55 for concrete relationship."

...

"Lisa 5ft 1ins, Black hair size 16, blue/green eye, likes JLS, seeks male for fun and friendship."

Now seriously is there any need to mention your dress size and the fact you like JLS? Is like JLS a big enough issue to warn people before you even meet them?

...

"Good tune played on an old fiddle, female, 64, seeks male for friendship"

I liked this one, it's cute!

...

"Looking for company with someone who can restore my faith in the male species! Karen, 36. geniuine."

...

"Libby, 44, looking for fun under the sheets? Long walks? I'm your girl. Slim build."

I think this is my favourite one! ^^

In the words of Tom Jones "Baby it's cold outside"

Wowsers! Frosty starts are here again, out come the ugg boots and away go the flip flops!

So after running a few errands this morning me and the Bambino decided this is perfect weather to stay inside and dance around to a bit of Tom Jones! My legend, I love him to dance around the dinning room singing at the top of my voice "sex bomb, sex bomb" to  the bambino while he chuckles away thinking I have finally lost the plot!

So after going through Tom Jones's greatest hits, my two beautiful big sisters came over for a little visit which was lovely. One lives in Suffolk which is quite nice because it's only about half hour drive away and owns a beautiful little vintage clothes shop http://www.bluebirdvintage.co.uk/
And the other lives in London Town! So was so lovely to have a catch up! And have lots of cuddles and kisses with the Bambino!

 Having a little sing-song.
Laura & Bambino.

Laura my sister got married in July, and had some beautiful fresh traditional English flowers, and she dried them out and now my bouquet lives on my window ledge, they still smell delicious. The smell of them takes me back to my childhood and my mum's house, she loved dried flowers and flower arranging.

That's all for now!

Teething

Arrghhh! I'm running around the house trying to find the dentinox gel! And the calpol and the comfort blanket and his dummy. I hate teething, I hate it I hate I HATE IT! And if I'm totally honest I don't think Bambino is much of a fan either.

All babies react to teething differently some are fine and you don't even know they are teething, just one day they smile at you and BAAM they have teeth. And some... Like my Bambino go through hell. The poor little mite, I wish I could take all his pain away, maybe swap? I would go through it for him...

How do I know he's teething? Well his checks and chin are bright red and hot, he is dribbling better than Wayne Rooney and is choping on anything he can fit into his mouth, oh and his crying... How can I forget the crying? He woke up this morning about 7.30 and so far has stopped for a total of about 5 minutes I have managed to get him to have a nap but I'm sure he will be up and crying again in about 2 minutes.

I have tried everything I know, he even has an amber anklet which he wear all the time. I read up on amber and it only had good reviews so I have given it a go, but even that hasn't worked a miracle like I expeceted it to.

Anyone out there with any tips?? Pleaaassee? I urge you to come forward, for Bambino happiness and my sanity

But if I HAD to pick a photo of somebody else I fancy at the moment I have an idea who I would pick...

The young Leonard Dicaprio
A bit of Jude Law... YES PLEASEEE
Spencer Matthews (Made in Chelsea) Obviously not from series one becasue he looked a beast but now he has smartened himself up abit....

So there you have it people of the cyber net, I'm sure you weren't interested before, but now you know who is on my celebrity hit list ;)

Hey Hey what do you say! It's Glossybox day

Today is the day when all beauty lovers of the UK get super excited! As today is the day the glossybox gets delivered!
If you have been hibernating for the past six months then you probably won't know what the glossybox is. If that's you keep reading!

The idea behind Glossybox is if you, like most women out there love high end beauty products that more often than not cost the earth but are disappointed when you have spent an obscene amount of money on one thing that ends up not suiting you. It's so disappointing!
The point of the glossybox is that every month for a mere 10pounds they send you a beautiful box with 5 high end beauty products, could be make-up nail varnish, toners, masks, cleansers etc... You will usually receive a full size item too (this month we received 2 full size items!) For you to try at your own leisure then once you have had a play with then if you so decide to go and buy the full sized item, but if it turns out it's not for you it's not the end of the world as you have 4 other products you can try out.
Also it's a lovely little treat to receive in the post every month! Now Bambino is around I don't have lots of cash to go and splash about on beautiful products so this is perfect for me!
If I'm totally honest the beautiful box it comes in and all the ribbon and tissue paper is so beautiful itself! Totally worth 10pounds to me! And you can re-use the boxes and things as they are far too nice to just chuck away!

This months box!

I received:
1. Dermalogica Age smart MultiVitamin Thermafoliant (Skin polisher) full size price 40.50
2. Dermalogica Age smart MultiVitamin Power Recover Masque Full size 33.00
3. Leighton Denny Expert Nails colour &care (Pale blue nail varnish) Glossybox sent us a full size bottle worth 11.00
4.Stila smudge stick waterproof eyeliner (in Moray) we received a full size eyeliner too! Worth 13.00
5.Robert Piguet Eau de perfums Full size worth 65.00

And because it was there 6th box we also received a Dermalogica beauty bag and Dermalogica Age Smart renewal lip complex! Bonus!

I have heard that some boxes can be a bit hit and miss but they are generally getting better and better as they are getting more established. You aren't tied into any contract you can stop the boxes whenever you desire!
I highly recommend it!

"We are beauty experts and passionate consumers of beauty products. We know that with the range of products on offer, it can be difficult to make up your mind. Choosing the wrong product often proves to be expensive. GLOSSYBOX wants to save you from making these kind of mistakes in the future. We therefore track the most interesting trends and introduce them to you. We only inform you about products that we believe are test-worthy and of the highest quality. Your beauty profile allows us to send you a carefully selected selection every month.
We love beauty products and we want to share our insider know-how with you. Whether its cutting edge seasonal colours or the latest care trend from the US - you will know about it first from the GLOSSYBOX website. And the best thing...GLOSSYBOX delivers these trends directly to your home. Monthly" glossybox website.

I understand this isn't a one off and that USA have been doing this sort of thing for a while and it is becoming very popular in the UK too, and there are many different companies offering the same sort of thing now also. I recommend if you are going to have a monthly beauty box of any kind you research the best one for you.

A Photo of me taken by someone else.

This is the next thing on my blog list. A photo of me, but taken by sombody else...

This is tricky.

Because I'm the only person that takes photos! On the odd occasion my Fiance does attempt to take a photo of me half my head is missing ir it's a photo of the wall around me.

But here is a successful one not taken by me.
It was at my beautiful sister's wedding, in Jult this year. Was a totally magical day! Have never been to a wedding like it before and I'm sure I never will again!

Me and another beautiful sister of mine, Bambino has lots of gorgeous aunites! One luck little chappy!

Hairstyle I would Like to have.

Hairstyle I would love to have... Well this isn't a hard one! I am never ever satisfied with my hair, when it's dark I want it blonde, when it's blonde I want it black, when it's straight I want it curly and when its long I want it short... You see where I'm going with this.
Currently this is what I'm wishing for yet I know there is no way in a month of Sundays will I ever be able to maintain it, I barely have the time to wash it let alone anything else!

Love Hilary Duff!

Love your hair ;)

And Love her cleavage!

However unfortunately like I mentioned, I can just about scrape my hair back and that will have to do, so I end up looking a bit like this!

On a better note. Bambino has been teething like crazy for the past few days! And I can see all the effort now! He has two tiny teeth at the bottom! Way to go Bambino!!
(But I have ordered a amber anklet for him as I have only heard good things and fingers crossed it will stop us having days like we have been... Pure pain and agony for the both of us! Finger crossed they work!)

Just a normal day...

This morning me and Bambino shared a lovely breakfast of scrambled egg on toast! This is the first time I have given him egg, so I cooked it quite well done and he loved it! It went everywhere! I even found a slice of toast and egg in the bottom of my coffee cup!
Then we went swimming, this is the first time he has been swimming so I was a bit nervous at how he would react, when he was a tiny baby we would shower with him rather than bath as he had colic and we found that having showers together would settle him down a bit. So now we have weaned him into baths but I wasn't too sure if going into a swimming pool would be too much for him. But he seemed to enjoy himself (the teacher even encouraged me to dunk him under water, and he didn't mind that either) think he's quite laid back like his daddy!
He was so tired after that he crashed out for most of the afternoon! Hmm... We are definitely doing that again.

Me 2 years ago

This is a photo of me two years ago (I'm on the right!) On a very messy night out with some friends
This particular photo was taken in a club called essence. Pre Bambino, me and my fiance would go out about 2/3 times a week, we moved into the city because the night life was so much better than where we were living before (the seaside) But now we have our gorgeous little man we have moved back to the seaside as it's closer to the family.
But I would pick staying home with my two gorgeous boys than go out anyday!!

3.

Number 3 off the list... A photograph of my mobile phone.

This is the current mobile I'm sporting. It's not fantastic but it does it's job, I had a iphone on a 2 year contract but I dropped it down the toilet! So i have another 8 months of this beast before I can upgrade. Nothing really exciting to tell you about this to be honest...

Drink driving!

(Sorry the photo needs rotating but I can't seem to save it rotated so you'll have to rotate your head!)

I saw this at a petrol station yesterday and it got me all worked up!
If this poster doesn't promote drink driving then I don't know what would!
4p off a litre when you purchase any off licence item.
I hate drink driving and it really rattled mt feathers, I won't name and shame the station.

Bambino

It's my Bambino's 6month birthday today!
I can hardly believe he is growing so fast and I know it sounds extremely cliche but time has flown by! Everyone says it but thats because it's so true!
Bambino enjoying some toast and homemade strawberry jam for breakfast, Mmmm....
